New Doncaster Bakery Opens on Baxtergate

There’s nothing quite like the smell of a fresh bake on a morning and Doncaster shoppers now have a new spot for their morning bake, with our third local shop now open on Baxtergate. We’re delighted to share that the store opened its doors on Friday 4th September with a fresh new look, inside and outside seating, and a great turnout from the local community.

A proud moment for the team

Civic Mayor Cllr Nick Allen joined our CEO, John Ruddock, to cut the ribbon and officially open the new shop, a fitting way to mark becoming part of another Doncaster high street. It’s a moment that means a lot to us: every new shop is a chance to bring proper, freshly baked food to a community that hasn’t had a Cooplands on their doorstep before.

From the bakers up early getting everything ready, to the colleagues welcoming customers through the door, their hard work behind the scenes is what got Cooplands Baxtergate open, and we couldn’t be prouder.

A warm welcome on opening day

To celebrate, we welcomed customers with free cake samples, a spin of the prize wheel, and savers cards to help make everyday favourites go further. It was brilliant to see so many familiar and new faces coming through the door on day one, and even better to see them leaving with a treat in hand.

Growing our presence in Doncaster

Baxtergate is our third shop in the town, and it’s a sign of just how much we’ve come to love being part of the Doncaster community. Since 1885, Cooplands has been about proper bakery food made with care which is exactly what our new Baxtergate team is serving up every day.
